Annual Meeting Exhibitors Invitation

AM Materials:

We invite you to have a display/exhibit at the joint 2019 Annual Meeting of the Society of Christian Ethics, the Society of Jewish Ethics, and the Society for the Study of Muslim Ethics which will be held January 3-6 at the Marriott Louisville Downtown, located at 280 W Jefferson Street in Louisville, Kentucky.

Book displays are an important and indispensable component of the SCE Annual Meeting, and the leadership of the SCE would like both to encourage your presence at the meeting and to solicit your suggestions for increasing the value of the opportunity for those exhibitors who attend. In addition to continuing to combine the exhibitors’ display area with the high-traffic break/reception room, we will also be setting aside an area in that large room fitted with small tables and chairs where editors can hold individual conversations. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have suggestions about how the SCE could make the meeting more valuable to you.  The many changes now taking place in employment patterns, publishing, and higher education funding require cooperative creative initiative. We are all partners in mutually working to navigate these changes successfully.

Exhibits will be in the Marriott VI Ballroom on the 2nd floor where breaks and the Presidential Reception will occur as in the past. This year again, the exhibitor table fee includes the breaks and Presidential Reception. If more than 3 representatives from a publishing company are present, additional reps will need to register for the meeting as non-members.

Exhibitors may still register for optional program activities as noted on the registration form, and those exhibitors who are members of the Society and wish to participate in the conference must still register for the conference. We encourage publishers to expand their book offerings to include books that might address preconference and plenary topics and that might be of interest to Jewish and Muslim ethicists. The theme for this year’s meeting is “Christian Ethics: Retrospect and Prospect.” More information is posted on the Society’s website at as well as the program draft and other information you might find helpful such as ground travel from the airport to the hotel. When booking airfare, be sure to check prices and availability on Southwest Airlines.

This year the meeting will have the usual pre-conference sessions on Thursday, January 3rd; in addition we are experimenting with starting at 7pm with concurrent sessions. This will allow us to close the meeting on Sunday at 10:30am when the last concurrent sessions ends. Therefore we ask that exhibitors be ready for business on Thursday, January 3rdh, at 6pm and please stay setup until 11am, January 7th.

SCE’s registration for exhibitors is $185 per table. You are also invited to place ads in the program booklet at the rate of $275 for an internal full page ad, $400 for the back cover. You do not need to exhibit to have an ad in the program.

Ad space can also be reserved for the Journal of the Society of Christian Ethics (JSCE), published twice a year, at the rate of $400 for single full page ad. The next issue deadline is September 30th.  I have posted the Table of Contents including the book reviews on the Publishers section of the SCE website at

Please fill out and return to me as soon as possible the enclosed SCE Publishers’ Registration form and payment for registration fee and fees for any other event you will be attending. No one will be allowed to exhibit who has not registered in advance. Please note the deadline of November 1, 2018 for exhibitors’ registrations, and the cancellation policy found on the registration form. When we have received your completed registration, a confirmation email will follow. Please do not hesitate to call if you need any further information.

To reserve your accommodations at the Marriott, you must contact the hotel directly. Please see the registration form for the contact information or go to The rate this year is $134US per night plus tax.

We would appreciate if you would please share this with others involved in marketing.
